Actually like the experience driving electric.

Electric trials bikes are awesome once you adjust and found them better to ride. And when I'm riding with the kids they can hear me and I can hear them. There not being smoked out with 2t fumes and maintenance is a lot less

Basic error there, if its an east european truck with 2 (or more) drivers sharing the driving.
they are never parked for hours, always on the road.

or a truck with one driver doing a day shift, another driver doing nights in the same truck

To late with rail we either move the rails to distribution centres or move the distribution centres to the rails,
most of the big rail freight yards went when BRS disappeared, house or shoping complies now

485k HGVs registered in UK last year. Half of them maybe? 44 tonners
44t lorry 7.6 mpg average
500 miles travel (small range really) - 296 litres diesel
approximates into 2960 KWh potential energy
30% efficiency (being kind) = 888 KWh

Now lets disregard the electrical energy losses and assume you just need 888 KWh of electrical energy to take 44 tons 500 miles (in reality you need more)

"will charge 80% in an hour" - so 80% of 888KWh in 1 hour = 710KW quick chargers? REALLY? Where's this distribution network going to come from?

Well you could always enlighten us with your wisdom, but bear in mind that “real” jobs always take quite a bit longer than “imaginary” ones.

And one of the rules is that if future customers share that upgrade, the original customer gets a partial refund.

One of his beefs is they want to site the transformer on his land, before they will entertain this they are insisting he gets a lease drawn up on their terms. To get the supply to where he wants it means the transformer will be some fifty odd meters inside his property,any future upgrades for/to other's will mean ripping his place to bits.

Just not possible they tried hydrogen truck in the 80s it could only run dept to dept due to lack of range and recharging/filling point lasted less than a year had a load of oxygen like tanks all over it

Hydrogen gas as a fuel has been developed and is continuing to look like world beater fuel in heavy & light engines by JCB .
It is a new exciting way of using modified internal combustion engines and use newly developed precision hydrogen gas delivery into the engine .
I gather that the liquid hydrogen is in a tank at 247 psi 7 is put through gas regulator to bring it down considerably so it can be injected as a liquid into the cylinder area of a modified cylinder head . Similar to what I was saying on here 2 or 3 years ago .
IIRC.... JCB have contracted recently to buy up around 10 % of all Australian liquid hydrogen produced by their solar systems & electrolysis .

Storage of hydrogen as a gas typically requires high-pressure tanks (350–700 bar [5,000–10,000 psi] tank pressure). Storage of hydrogen as a liquid requires cryogenic temperatures because the boiling point of hydrogen at one atmosphere pressure is −252.8°C.

Air Liquide say that at 700bar (sensible high pressure) you can store 5kg H2 in a 125 litre tank.
39.4 KWh per kg of H2 (gross, ignoring losses)
so at best, a 500 litre tank of hydrogen at commercially viable pressures will contain 20kg of hydrogen with a net energy value of 800 KWh

same volume of diesel has 5000 KWh.

The energy densities are way out... but at least within a single magnitude
