Tempted to think you guys don't get access to the better heatpumps we do in the nordics. I mean they're on like every other house here and people like them. Or your houses need to be better insulated.

Because we get all the rubbish supplied and installed by "specialists companies" that spring up on the back of green subsidies and other tosh thats rolled out

Well the product was still on eBay a few seconds ago .So I don't know what to make of your post .

So reading between the lines they were only considered unsafe because the INSTALLATION instructions weren't safe. Don't run the exhaust near combustibles etc etc. I would have thought the majority of people installing these could work that out for themselves?

These are the same people who send badly loaded pallets via your network…..

The UK manufacture some great heat pumps, we can buy whatever we want. Some are better than others but that is the whole nature of markets

Whooooooooo ! the not in stock small oil heater has just arrived, the box is in good order . I'm letting it defrost in the bedroom as it's too cold to play with & in any case it's too chuffing cold outside around minus 4 plus a bit of bone gnawing wind chill to be trying to install it right now .

Though it does make me wonder who answered my question when I asked the eBay seller , "What is the maximum lift of the fuel pump? "
There were several click here buttons in what looked to be an official eBay reply saying it was no longer available & inviting to me to go and buy a bigger more expensive heater .
Happily I don't play such games so I'm still £150 or more in pocket .

I got up for a pee in the small hours the other night and my phone was showing -7, and with one single glazed sash window and a double glazed velux, I wasn't hanging around. The only heating upstairs is electric panel heaters and I'm too mean to run them all night. Roll on summer!!!

The quotes to make good the ASHP system are huge, and i'm not convinced throwing more money at it will fully resolve.

Oil, package system boilers outside in a box……then your not tied into an expensive tank contract.

Very true. Heat pumps aee a huge part of my work, poor installs affect the whole industry

One bad install made convincing a school governor so much harder that it should have been, nearly lost the funding on that one
