It's getting to the point where purely mechanical /electrical diagnostics aren't cutting it anymore, and I need to move into the 21st century. Having had a quick look on Ebay code readers appear to start at about a tenner and rise to silly money. There are also options to use a laptop with a suitable cable and software. I have very little idea about these things, but it seems worthwhile spending a bit more cash to get one that will erase (reset?) the fault codes once the problem has been fixed, and realtime scanning /feedback from engine sensors seems like a good idea too. So, what do you guys use/recommend?
