However the 0.8 wire has made a huge difference, when i was setting up for the new wire and experimenting with power and wire speeds the old settings for the 0.6 wire was almost blowing through the same steel i was using before.
I am guessing the smalller diameter wire doesn't allow as much current to flow as the thicker wire.
I've only ever used 0.8mm,but i'm sure i've read here 0.8 wire carries 40% more current than 0.6mm...but i was under the impression 0.6 on a machine like yours would cope with 2mm ... ....glad you are sorted anyway........now for a project,a lot of people go for a trolley to hold their welder and bottle ,good luck with what project you decide to try
