Whoa there, wearing disposable gloves welding opens up a whole new HS issue. Even under heavy welding gloves they can melt to the skin! you often see similar when an experienced welder suddenly throws an unexpected wobbly mid-run - often his wedding ring or the likes has heated up.
Good dry gloves and such is normally enough in this regards
I said wore-not that I wear them now, at the time I wore them, I was on a ship in mid atlantic, and there was not an endless supply of welding gauntlets, I found the wet gloves fired off me hand faster than with no inner glove. Nowadays, I'd just put fresh gloves on as you say.
H&S issues at the time were more focused on risk asessment on the possibility of incoming Exocets than me burning a finger to be honest
