Are you using ACI bought mine from welding supplies direct.
I did try to tig braze with some oxy rods when I first got my TIG and the results were awful, copper electrical wire actually worked miles better than the oxy rods.
The no8 I have now are beautiful to work with, there now my go to process for most of my cast repairs now. When I got them the first thing I did was get some old engines,diffs stuff like that out of the scrap pile and break off lugs,cracked cases etc and fixed them with no8 then gave them a good hammering and the brazed repairs held up really well.
