A1 2011 DSG Gearbox Issues

Yeah - I did another member of this forum DSG oil change a few months ago. I forget who - but he did drive a long way to get it done - nice chap but his name slips my mind.

I need to let gearbox cool down after you land - so I can spill the fluid at the right temp to set level as temp is rising not falling - so you will have to go have wander round King's Lynn (dirty docks town).

Don't suggest fried breakfast as I will be coming with you and your gearbox fluid won't get changed!

I will do adaptions to set clutch throw at same time. I stock the Febi filters and bung seals - plus the OE Quantum G spec fluid here.

Bring some cash and I will do you a deal like I did the other forum member!

The clutch/gear change is absolutely spot on from what i can tell.
In both Normal and Sports mode the gear change is quick and smooth.

Well, we paid £8400 for this car 6 years ago with 35k on the clock.

They are now making £9000+ for the same year and more miles.

Unbelievable.

Can't justify buying anything much newer when it only does 3-4000 miles a year.

I too am about to overhaul my 2012 VW Passat Highline DSG estate car instead of trading up - throw some money at it (as trading up looks too expensive to me).

I had not trouble with my DSG at all - but I have changed the fluid and gearbox filter every 30k - plus I done the electronic calibrations every oil change to adjust the clutches up.

How would that be done on an 8 speed DSG? Audi A6 50tdi, 2021. Have VCDS. Thanks.

2021 Audi (flagship) A6 50tdi would need dealer ODIS online to do gearbox calibrations. Any pass thru device - J protocol would do it - if you paid €Euro subscription to VAG servers ( you could do it with Topdon - Launch - Autel) - but you would need to go "pass thru" direct from German manufacture servers.

USA VCDS just not gonna "cut it" here mate....

Enjoy your local Audi dealer (they are not cheap) - the car out of warranty - please prey they don't find "a fault".

Car still has warranty, extended it. And yes, dealers not cheap, or good. Love the car, despise the dealers.

Extended VAG group warranties tend to be good - they are at the better end of warranty things you can buy. But you must keep servicing it with an Audi garage.
