Got up the road to get some work done on the Islander 19. They have been getting the roof heightened on the shed so I have not been able to do anything until now as the electricity was all disconnected.
Some pics of the shed showing the difference.
Door widened and height raised probably by 2m or more.
You can see the difference here, also they got a partition wall put in halfway down and used the old front roller door in it.
It will allow the 10m Cheetahs to get into the front part without having to take the masts down and with the widened door the widest one will be able to get in without having to remove the side door that was originally in place as we had to do when I fitted the roller system, see pic below.
Ok so on to the wee boat, no need for heightened roofs or widened doors for it
The trouble with these wee boats is the sides curve out and when leaning on the gunwale your feet are 300mm inboard which instantly has you off balance. So the gunwale was raised and widened to mean you are standing upright when leaning against the gunwale.
A bait box was also incorporated in the new gunwale.
Also made a start to fitting the davit that I made a few weeks back.
Hopefully I will get a good bit more done tomorrow.

A bit more progress. Davit fully fitted with offset leg due to hull shape and hauler fitted. Still have a cleat to weld onto it and also a bracket for the rotary spool valve oh and a pin to make for the lower roller.
Also as can be seen the main section of the table has been done. It is the smallest table I have ever fitted on a boat just over 1m wide, normally they are 2m.
Tomorrow I will hopefully get a 300mm wide sloping section welded in place at the stern and then the hinged ramp section made up ready to fit.

Went down to the workshop and cut some 4mm aluminium up on the plasma.
Started welding things up on my welding bench
Ended up with this.
It is a console/screen for housing the instruments and providing a wee bit of shelter from the spray.

Back up to the boat today, had to make a new frame for the screen because some donkey (me ) gave their pal the wrong dimensions for the toughened glass so it was just on the tight side. I had meant to take 5mm off the frame size all round but only took 5mm in total and seemingly toughened glass doesn't like being touched on its edge
Got that fitted today and the glass didn't explode so all was good.
Got some wear strips welded to the gunwale top where the gear comes in.
Welded in a socket for a crab stick and that was me done but no pic of that.

His old man is probably getting a new cheetah in a year or two so he will get the old one and this is just a stop gap. Also to prove himself with a slightly more capable vessel.Ace job Hood (as always), looks a grand upgrade for them
