A better radiator.

What could I swap this for to get a lot more heat out of it?

It’s in the ‘wet room’ of our new place, a basically cold, big shower room come bathroom.

I like the idea, spacious shower with a curtain round, yet the floor is some vinyl glued direct to concrete underneath, no shower base at all, just a sealed floor.

So, a far better radiator, maybe something functional that can dry towels but is not just ‘pretty’.

and the pipes will usually fit with no mods.......just sayin......

wowzers I literally have the exact same wetroom in my house. same floor same tiles but mine is upstairs and still cold on the feet.

id go for a big vertical towel rail.

Have a look at the plumbase website or similar. Measure your radiator, find something similar and see what the output of it is and look for one with more.

Get a double convection radiator (the ones with frills? on the back) but make sure the door won't clout it as it'll be a bit deeper.

I really like the idea of a nice towel rack, but even the best one doesn’t put out the 4000 btu a double panel 600 x 600 will.

So Plumbase now tells me. Useful site that.

There is ten inches twixt door and wall.

A towel rail mounted aback the door might work for drying.

stick a 2kw pull chord fan heater on the wall and then get a double panel rad as well

I’ve always liked the look of them old style rads, throwback to my Dickensian grammar school days maybe...

It would be wasted stuck behind the door in the bathroom though.

Very efficient if kept clean.

@Morrisman. 15mm incoming so limited to around 13,000BTUs. Bear that in mind when choosing rad.

Twin panel with double convectors, same width so the pipes wont be too far out, they wont line up exactly as the new rad will be a bit thicker but should be close enough. You might be able to get a taller one to get a bit more heat.

Any decent website or catalogue will list the heat outputs and dont bother with towel rails for heat, they're decorative and are only good for slowly drying towels. I ended up binning the ones in the last two I've lived in.

Noticed the heating seems to run continuously sometimes, house was 20c when I got up, stat is set to 18.

Frost stat was set to 10 until yesterday, which I thought was the cause, but now is on 3. I wiggled it back and forth a few minutes ago and boiler tripped off.....

Here we go, more drama, new house blues...
