Yeah, website will be fully operational soon. Barely 5% is listed yet and we have a slow broadband connection so people are finding it slow to connect to our website but we have fibre to the building now and that will be lived up in a matter of days.

Closed my website the other week, did very little and our connection is less than 1 Meg also looses connection every day for periods. Mostly got Chinese companies trying to sell me thier junk or people using the company e mail to contact me after finding us on social media

Funny think people talk about the weight. I'm skinny and light and by no means strong yet although they can kick and grab if you're not careful I don't struggle with the weight of a 9", and some days it can see a lot of use.
Ok, I'd not want to have to operate one single handed while leaning a little too far off a ladder for long but I would have to be using one for a heck of a lot of the day to be bothering about the weight.

Sooner or later you will hurt yourself, ladders are for access not working off and certainly not for leaning off with a 9" grinder! Hey I have seen the results - don't kid yourself you have been lucky but odds say luck runs out so start thinking before you go doing

Thankfully I hardly ever have to work off ladders, and rarer still to use grinders up them too.
At work it's sometimes the safer of two evils though, the alternative is going up in the bucket of a telehandler which is fine except the cowman who's usually behind the wheel is lethal. Shouldn't be allowed on machinery.

I cut stone a lot with mine so find the bigger the motor the better. I have hat two of the Hitachi g23mr grinders (not the screwfix twinpack one) and they are excellent. The price between expensive and cheap ones is £100 at most but difference in use is huge. I always buy a decent one. Current one is a Milwaukee which I have no complaints about.

I have about 5 x 9" grinders, 4 of them being cheaper ones but the best one I have and would recommend would be the Hitachi 9" G23UBY, soft start and with Vibration minimizing material between both handles, plus 3 position handle. The rest of them I delegate to tasks that have a high chance of killing them such as masonry cutting, granite /concrete polishing ect. Whilst all 9" grinders are heavy and potentially deadly, you can minimize the risks by never using them above your chest height. For that sort of work smaller 5" or 7" grinder are better from a safety point of view. Having said that some 7" grinders are just as powerful and heavy as the 9" ones. I have also used quite a few of the blue Bosch 9" and 7" and they are also good but my preference is the Hitachi, it is also quieter than the others which is a bonus.

In my view you should never use the any grinder single handed although I suspect most of us have done so at some stage or other to sand with. Most of the smaller grinders are about 3/4HP to 1HP and I seriously doubt that any man could hold on to one if it kicked back. Just my 2 cents worth!

if you're cutting a lot of stone, keep an eye out for an electric stone cutting saw, I bought one a while back after borrowing my mates... think electric stihl saw but much much better

they're a fortune new, but come up on ebay from time to time

really nice/smooth/easy to use, I've used and abused mine a fair bit and it's never missed a beat

Actually got given another 9inch grinder today nothing special another challenger so I can now run one with a cutting disk and the other with a grinding disk.Bad news but one of my little grinders has given up the ghost.lol.Sammy.

if it's given up and you've nothing to loose, take it to bits and see what the worst with it. I got bits for one I was given that was "knackered" for about £15 (could have got just what I needed for less than a tenner but threw in a couple of new seals and circlips as I was feeling flush!) and had it fixed in no time.

Can't remember the site I used off the top of my head but you could look through by make and model and they had a parts diagram so you could order whatever you needed, or see how much they are then decide if it's worth it.

Lol I'm the world's worsed when it comes to taken things to bits' I always end up in a muddle loose the head then everything gets tossed in the bin.
