Bizarre you should say that...
We had a powercut the 11th November, most of the day. It came back, assumed the grid.
Two weeks later, last Wednesday, same, assumed the same.
Went to borrow more batteries for the inverter, and realised it was just us.
Following morning called out EDF, the ancient porcelain fuse holders, were ok, but the neutral link, not a fuse, a link had welded itself in place and died, we still had three phase but no neutral, so the smart counter wasn't functioning.
All fixed in an hour or so, EDF man put it down to old equipment, otherwise one of the fuses on the phases would've popped.
I've got an ampimetric tester, borrowed from work, and when I've got some time, I'll whack everything on at the same time, run a full hot bath, so the hot water tanks on too, and compare the pull on the phases, but for the neutral to cook?
