Our welfare units get wired in with SY if there is a chance of a mains connection.
Bob
What size?
This is (or will be) a 26' unit with a drying room and an office for me to work from

Ironically SY, YY and CY aren’t built to any harmonised standard, (ironic because its sold and used everywhere) SY isn’t UV proof so the plastic outer breaks down exposing the thin steel braid which rots and can break down the internal plastic causing an eventual cable failure…btw the thin shielding braid isn’t necessarily going to protect against cable damage like SWA as it can burn away before causing the MCB to trip…Our welfare units get wired in with SY if there is a chance of a mains connection.

Ours dont have a drying room, pretty sure its 6mm. Will have a look tomorrow.

H07RNF is the stuff you want, insanely tough outer sheath and super flexible cores…
still makes no odds there on thermostats
Most drying rooms we connect have a 32A mcb feeding them with no trouble, the added office usually means an extra heater and a constant loading on the kettle & WiFi....This is (or will be) a 26' unit with a drying room and an office for me to work from
I know and used everywhere in the air-con world….technically it’s against the wiring regs as its not approved but hey ho… it is cheaper than H07…I use some for final connections to machines in my shed but never outside. We dont spec it, the sparks on site connect them up and sign them off.

i generaly wire hobs in 4.0mm even though some manafacturers specify 2.5mmYou know way more about this than me, so please don't take my continued questions as a pretence that I know better - I don't - I'm still trying to understand -
If the unit is cold, and I whack everything on full, then all the stats are going to be closed for some time whilst it all heats up.
Is that not going to be long enough to melt a 2.5?
As I say, it made me feel uneasy.
Edit - not melt as in fuse wire melt, but heat up way more than it should?

A 7m length of 10mm HO7RN will be plenty for that cabin.
so you dont have everyone round at christmas for dinner thenI've got a mahoosive 5 ring range with induction hob with double oven grills etc, it's on a 10mm T&E fed with a 32A mcb it should be a 40A one but I didn't have one at the time and it's been OK.
thats diversity for u then proves a pointIt has been cained on Christmas day with no tripping.
