Cutwel, get the bison ones. High quality and logical terminologyI am going round in circles trying to find what I believe is termed a 4 to 3 Morse adapter.
I see many listed as 4 to 3 but stamped 3 to 4.
Now the one I have in the photo is stamped 4 to 3 but I am doubting myself now as I can't see how it can be without a step in it.View attachment 249548

I am lucky I have plenty of length in the Colchester bed.I bought An MT1-MT2 step-up sleeve similar to that photo For my Roundbed so I could use some MT2 bits I bought on here, but it’s next to useless as once you’ve fitted it all in the tailstock there’s hardly any room for anything of any length in the chuck.
Yes but the photo is the same. Just stamped both ways. All hinges on whether its a reducer or increaser?

You would think so.It should be completely obvious, just look at the shape. Which way round it's stamped is not relevant if there's a picture of the actual item.
European made, hardened and ground.I am lucky I have plenty of length in the Colchester bed.
I just have a 4 Morse large diameter shamphering tool that would be useful occasionally. But thankfully cutwell don't have them listed as the prices of their extension type start at around 60 quid (too rich for me)
You would think so.
But the problem is the extension type can be both ways.
What's this one?View attachment 249562 View attachment 249563
@Brad93 I appreciate that mate. But it's probably cheaper to buy a 3 Morse shamphering tool.European made, hardened and ground.
You can get extensions from China but they’re not as nicely made.
That's what I thought. Not big enough to be an increaser so it's either a same-size extension or a reducing extension. What does it say?
