You can reactivate the silica bags hundreds of times.
A few minutes after the oven is switched off and the food is taken out put the used bags in the oven on a baking tray and leave them there till the oven is cool enough to touch the racks .

Then take them out and either heat seal them in poly bags or put in tie off sandwich bags then store them in a spare sweet tin /tub seal it with tape if you feel like it.

I have been looking for vacuum sealing bags of a size that wil hold a roll. But as yet i cant find one.

I have been looking for vacuum sealing bags of a size that wil hold a roll. But as yet i cant find one.

Look at Wischenfelder .com or .co.uk they do sausage stuff and thick embossed poly food bags .
We have some that are 12 inches wide by 16 inches long , our heat sealer can handle a 12.5 " wide bag .

Measure up a bag that you have carefully cut open and see if you can find a match .
Specially for you I have just checked , yes my Prusa reels fit in the 12x 16 inch bags once the original poly bag is removed ... it's a tight fit but easy doable & you can slip a small food grade desiccant bag in as well if you want to ..

The Ali Express Chinese ones we are currently using up have been a disappointment .
I ordered 500 and a fair percentage have deep air leaking scratches randomly through out each pack of 50 . I suspect I was sold second quality bags where as Wischenfelder get a proper first grade product .
