Brad, how do you cut that with propane? Is that propane with compressed air or something? I'd like to cut a thick plate myself, maybe 25mm IIRC.That's 40mm thick cut with propane if I remember correctly
Propane & Oxygen.Brad, how do you cut that with propane? Is that propane with compressed air or something? I'd like to cut a thick plate myself, maybe 25mm IIRC.

WATCHING “I C WELD” ON YOUTUBE IS AN VERY VERY TIME CONSUMING THING.
ONLY WATCH IF YOU HAVE NOTHING TO DO FOR 6 HOURS
That won't be acetylene. Acetylene, realistically, is limited to about 8" thick.oxy acet will cut four feet thick steel ,,, theres some video on you tube of some guys cutting 2ft steel I think ,,,,
last guys good , he does some interesting stuff , hes a daemon with a gas axe though , he cuts pipe joints nicer than I can plasma cut them , but be warned , you will watch all the video if you watch the first fifteen seconds.
Still using oxygenBrad, how do you cut that with propane? Is that propane with compressed air or something? I'd like to cut a thick plate myself, maybe 25mm IIRC.
It will be, it's with acetylene rather than propane, narrower kerf, cooler part, less heat input. This one looks so much cleaner.
15 psiThat won't be acetylene. Acetylene, realistically, is limited to about 8" thick.
Anything over that, will be propane. 1.) Cost 2.) Acetylene can only be drawn off at a certain rate, and above a certain pressure (it escapes me now) it becomes unstable.
Naw....too small.I bought a cheapo 9" grinder for £30 from Argos many years ago to do 1 specific job that my 4.5" grinders couldn't do.
It has been borrowed by a few mates so they can do "one-off" jobs of their own.
Value for money, its paid for it self many times over and is still going strong.
Forget about trying to do major work with 4.5" grinders, anything is possible but....
