I have run a daisy chain of three phase sockets around the place to save running single cables back, apparently this is wrong but not if there is a fused switch on each outlet and the cable size is adequate, saves space at the board. I suppose each socket is then its own submain. Also reading about 3 phase ring mains, that gets a bit confusing with all the tinternet opinions on leccy forums

Farms IME rarely have perfect electricstell me about it i posted on here the other day looking to buy a farm with 3phase but all the electrics need redoing right back to the incoming tails. Spoke to my usual electrician who asked which building I would like my 3phase "socket" running into i said i want them all over the place which is when the conversation became very long winded!
If you need good three phase electrician I can give you my electrician numbertell me about it i posted on here the other day looking to buy a farm with 3phase but all the electrics need redoing right back to the incoming tails. there's no problem running a 30 amp 3 phase ring main round a workshop with sockets or radial circuits. not all will be used at once or if they are calculate the load. most circuits allow for diversity if u need lower amperage supplies on machines just fit a 16 amp tpn minature circuit breaker on them or lower if needed and supply from the 30 amp sockets . a radial circuit would be wired in 4.0mm and the ringmain in 2.5mm . just wire them in armoured cable or run trunking round the workshop and drop to sockets in conduitI have run a daisy chain of three phase sockets around the place to save running single cables back, apparently this is wrong but not if there is a fused switch on each outlet and the cable size is adequate, saves space at the board. That’s good to know. May get us out of troublethere's no problem running a 30 amp 3 phase ring main round a workshop with sockets or radial circuits. not all will be used at once or if they are calculate the load. most circuits allow for diversity if u need lower amperage supplies on machines just fit a 16 amp tpn minature circuit breaker on them or lower if needed and supply from the 30 amp sockets . a radial circuit would be wired in 4.0mm and the ringmain in 2.5mm . just wire them in armoured cable or run trunking round the workshop and drop to sockets in conduit
I reckon if you got on to your supplier they would install a 3 phase meter foc as you already have the service cutouts.
