A lot of sparks cut them to pull the fuse when changing boards/consumer units, cut it carefully and you can tuck the cut under the plastic hole, barely noticeable.

The meter maids these days barely pay any attention to anything anyway, certainly not to the bit of the course that teaches them how to tighten up terminal screws.

We've not had our meters read in a very long time either. Even less likely to have your meter checked nowadays with the advent of smart meters let alone anybody checking the seal number.

Ours was serviced by EB due to faulty time switch there were NO seals on anything before new switch, (a story in it's self) the seals are plastic now.

the crimping pliers are numbered and allocated to each operative so they can see who last sealed the meter. I have a bag full of seals sometimes I put them back on and sometimes I don't ive actualy been doing a db change with the meter cover off when the meter reader called I just said to him u picked your time to call no big deal though is it . he just said all I do is just report no seal and they come out and seal it . what else they gonna do take u to court for nothing nupe

Random thought.

Can't really tell from the photo, is it possible you've 3 ph coming in, and only 1ph used?

From the photo it's impossible to tell underneath the 3 fuse box.

Get a voltmeter, on ac, and see what voltage is between the fuses.

You could have 3 ph possibly.

Is the cable going out the house buried, where does it to go if it's aerial?

Cable is extremely thick and buried. I live on a main road and I assume it goes out to the road.

Tried to find my tester. Of course it’s not gone back in any of tool boxes. Ordered one for tomorrow on amazon.
I have 1960vw bus I’m restoring and a 67 and a 58 karmann ghia convertible but that seemed like a long username.

The Karmann Ghia is the best ever reason not to restore a mini ,, just such a beautiful car .... gods this place is an expensive place to hang out ,,, new welder bought , no would a car be a handy test piece ,,,, mmmmmmm

Correct it just works out the Watts you draw, be it on one, two or all three phase’s.

Funny thing is I went from a 5.5kw lathe to a 15Kw, I was terrified about getting the bill, but it actually never changed because I’m getting through a task so much faster. Going from 2mm depth of cut to 10mm doesn’t half speed things up.

i didn't notice any change in my bills when i went from single to three phase.

The use of the tumble drier is the major factor.

I don't spend hours welding or turning stuff everyday, just occasional.

Yeh you just push the button to toggle between the 3 phases and the total reading.

Aye, got a smart one, every few months i get an email to say, my direct debit has increased, or decreased depending on use f washing line.

No nasty big bills. Nice.
