15 core cable

as per title I need a length of 15 core cable bout .5-.75 mm
could do with about 5 -8 metres,
anybody help or know of anything ? please

Could you not use singles and flexi conduit / split corrugated stuff?

thanks for the ideas I can get it from a retailer but it is about £13 a metre which is more than the welder cost me! Just thought I will try Dave Saunders tomorrow he will probably have something.

Just guessing, but it's not for a foot pedal is it?

My welder uses a generic 14 pin plug, but only 5 are connected to wires.

That is irelevant in your application. The only thing you need to care about is the current rating. If we know what you are stuffing down it, I might be able to be more helpful.

What about telephone multicore cable, a length of 10 pair will give you 20 cores.
Or 2 lengths of cat5 cable will give you 16 cores.

This sounds like I am being awkward but they are solids and I need a flex as it is a link between the welder and wire feeder and it will take a lot of stick on the workshop floor being pulled as i move the feeder around, the correct cable with plugs is £400

That is irelevant in your application. The only thing you need to care about is the current rating. If we know what you are stuffing down it, I might be able to be more helpful.

It is unusual for me to not know but I am not sure on this, as it is a umbilical between the welder and feeder,most of the apps for the cores will just be ac signalling AFAIK. BUT the wire feed speed control seems to be in the welder not the head unit so some of the cores have to take the wire feed motor load, low speed, high torque 24 DC ish, the loom wires to the sockets at either end seems to be about .75 depending on the insulation. so if I have 10m i would think the VD would be quite high.
Also not sure if it needs screening, the cable that came with it was not but was BRAND new, BUT only 5 core, I think the welder had gone for repair and they had ordered a new cable complete, fitted it and it still didnt work so the welder was scrapped !!

My miller uses a multi plug (forget PIN number at moment) but only three cores are used two for 24vdc @7amp for feed motor and a single return to control the transformer bit. If you can get away with less cores then there is loads of sy cables to choose from that will handle the abuse

If they're going to be permanently connected have you considered flexible conduit?, just need a contractors pack and a roll of single cable to make up as many cores as you need.

They say such as for 0-10V, not that it's rated for 10V. You'll not find any cable with an insulation rating that low, to be honest. What type of current are you wanting it to carry? Multicore cable is used in quite a few fields, audio/video being one which springs to mind. Just depends what current it'll be carrying. You could always run multiple cables and just sheath them, as a bundle, btw. You can get hold of braided sheath easily enough in various sizes.

I dont think I would get the conveluted flex conduit in the plugs I had thought of using garden hose with a load of singles up it but it might be a pain unless I use 3/4 bore

right one side of the socket has 16 wires going to it but not sure of the origination coz each has had heat shrink put on it and it is a little full,But both the sockets and plugs have 14 pins the other side looked like 15 but now I check again only has twelve and several wires branch off just before the socket. Therefore I only need 12 core, So my idea is the original cable has 5 cores I will Siamese a 7core trailer wiring cable with it making 12 cores to at least test out the unit.
