15 core cable

I dont think I would get the conveluted flex conduit in the plugs I had thought of using garden hose with a load of singles up it but it might be a pain unless I use 3/4 bore

It works well as a sheath, rubber hosing. I have it on one of my externally run cable runs. It's stood upto weather and being trodden on well, so far. If you use it, make sure to run a feeder wire first and sprinkle plenty of talc on the cables as you're pulling them through. It'll make getting them through a lot easier.

12 core sy cable is about £2/m for 0.5mm last time I got any 12 core trailer cable is available also

you could use yy cable if your not bothered about an over-braid.

Right I found some on e bay then found they are 4mls away!! 10M .75mm 12 core sy £23 inc sounds good to me.
So I will check tomorrow to make sure I can get away with 12 then order it.

when doing car looms years ago we used to use stuff called, Slippery Sam !! not sure if it is still available.

The modern equivalent is probably Hellerine fluid I've used it to help feeding cables a few times.

I cant work out how 12-13 flex is significantly dearer almost x3 to a high quality sy or cy
I understand the manufacturing quantity side of things having worked for various cable manufacturers doing the opposite to them, granulating and recycling their brand new faulty cables (by the 10 ton skip fulls)
but the complex work involved in making sy seems crazy, you would expect the balance to be exactly the other way round, x3 for sy

Got given a massive roll of 7 core, when I checked the original cable it had 7 cores so I could fully populate the 14 pin plugs, I have just finished soldering the extra 7 core in --- what a b*****d the pins are only 2mm apart.
