Making a box in plywood with a window cut out and using 4x2 on the outside to strengthen it all up, using roofing fibreglass (as its cheaper) to line the inside stapling the mat on to make the job easier, then glass it all up, then I'd fibreglass the outside too so the wood would never get wet, then I'd get creative with some fibreglass rocks on the front so it's like looking underwater, finally plenty of silicone and slide the glass inside the box and stick it in from inside so the water pressure is always squeezing the silicone joint, I'd never use metal as that water will always find the tiniest of holes or faults, and the fibreglass is after cured inert, oh and I want a back row seat( let the font row get the wettest when it blows)

Hi DrNik, many ways to go at it, in then end i will find a way, thats is the normal way, if i can find the extra room i will go concrete, either poured or block. Here is my recent project i have not long finished, i just wanted tp see what the 3D background would look like. not bad but i would make a few different additions if i use it on the big tank.
Thought i would let on i worked out a way to run the tank the third of the price first worked out, which was around £67pw, i have got it down to £20-£25pw, the biggest cost will be the return pumps, originaly it would of needed around 1400w of power from the pumps, these though are high pressure ones, needed to get the head which would of been 1.75m. After researching etc i came to the conclusion that if the head height wasnt as much then i could use a lower powered return pumps. All that is needed is for the sump filter to be the same height as the tank, easy
, this will give a head of less than 0.5m, and then the low power pumps, as used for pond fountains etc can be used and only 320`ish watts for two to return 30000lph Not only the running cost but the purchase cost is from £400-£500 each HP pump to less than £100 each LP pump.
Pays to research and research, shame i cant find any other ways to reduce running cost, LED lights will be used to save more power, but can be costly to purchase.
