Cheers Brightspark, currently im going to be cutting aluminium for the foreseable future. I can change speed via the belts on the pulleys but its a right faff tbh! Looking forward to using it this week ;)

Built it back up this afternoon:
Fired it up for a little go:
Need to sort the variable speed controller out, havent a clue what speeds I need to be cutting at but guess that will be the learning curve!

So your motor is in the cabinet below? think when my Dad got it he modified to suit a custom built steel bench. The miller body has been put on steel blocks to raise it up off the base plate to accomodate the worm drive box under motor. The drawback with this is the drawbar cant be removed...
Ive just tried a MT2, doesnt fit very slack, measured the id of the spindle and its 19mm and doesnt taper. Its around 52mm long before it reduces to the draw bar size.
If I machined a MT3 collet chuck down to 19mm and make a collar to fit over, replicating the arbor fitting:
Im way off...
Hi all,
A few years ago I posted about a Ajax Horizontal Mill that was in my mums garage:

Ive finally got round today of lugging the lump up to my house, all 162.2kg :ashamed:
As its not been run for at least 20 years ive...
Will have a look into the SRi gun. Ive got 40m of copper pipe runing round the garage, with rad drain valves at every drop, ive never had any water in the last two valves so hopefully doing its job.. Cheers for the info Daz
Ive got the same comp as you Daz I think, Clark SE16c100? Does the sri pro and air fed work well, or is it a lot of stop start? All my panels are off the car so doing in stages. Ive got a Pro Lite, the HVLP air cap works fine with the compressor, but I suppose if I did the whole car in one hit...
Weird thing about the tape is, when its first applied and removed doesn't effect the paint at all, but if it's left for a few days that's when it makes the paint.
I've used solvent base and upol 1k clear, results were ace but because I was doing a large area, when applying the clear it was...
It's looking that way mate, already looking for a different type of paint, considering celly again. Just waiting to see how the inside hardens final decision time then, but I am worried about using it on the outer panels!!
Very annoying really, would have been a good paint for home use if it...
I tried a gerson mask when I sprayed a comparison piece of steel to see how different non ISO is to normal hardener. It was a small section, but didn't feel any ill effects. Don't think I'd like to try a full respray with one in a 6 x 3m garage, with no extraction etc.
Yep!! I know good results can be had of this stuff, but blimey its getting a bit to time consuming to try and get the perfect results! Just wish it was as easy as the Lechler Epoxy primer im using! Wouldnt mind but Ive just bought a new batch of it so kinda got to keep plodding on now!
Will...
Hi,
Ive been having a play around with the NI 2k again over the last few weeks in the engine bay and interior. Had a few problems in the engine bay of runs due applying to thickly, once the huge lump of the engines back in etc, they wont be visable. When I finished spraying the interior...
Hi,
Ive got a Devilbiss GTi Pro Lite, with a TE10, TE20 and HV30 air cap. Which will be the best one to use for Lechler solvent BSB base coat? Reading up on the devilbiss site:
the TE10 is the choice. Probably answered my own question there!
Ive got the 1.3mm tip if that makes...
Cheers guys!! Moistures the main reason why I haven't used it while I'm painting got electric heaters to warm the area before painting, once panels painted IR heater is used.
Will look at putting some sort of extraction system in. I've got done Aico carbon monoxide det's on my van so will...
Hi,
I bought a 2nd hand Clarke Devil 650 propane off a well known auction site, pretty much brand new used once, and it looked it!
I'm using it in a single garage 6m x 3m with a large (ish) loft space but currently the trusses are covered in plastic to due spray painting in there. I'm not...
