It was. Run a little executable on the pc in order to enable developer mode on the printer, pop an update folder with the update.swu file in it on a usb stick, pop that in the printer & update the firmware from the touchscreen.
The boot logo, you can ssh into the printer, after update, & select from one of several. There's also some updated start/end gcode to go in the slicer, if one chooses. Minor changes, but I've used their code.

Another reason I decided to try this firmware is that with Elegoo pulling out on the planned AMS front, with these machines, this firmware is most likely the one to support one in future. I'm guessing the BTT Vivid may be a potential candidate.

No, I have decided to replace it with another P1S combo. The non ams from Elegoo has rather annoyed me.

Probably but it has paid for itself and I just want to run Bambu stuff.

@MattF just as a small update, I have ordered another P1S to keep everything the same. £339 at the moment. I will transfer one of the AMS units from the original printer. The converted garage will give me the space I need. If you need anything from the Elegoo let me know before it goes to the recycling center.

Shame you can't post the complete printer. 
Seems such a shame to skip it, for an extruder/printhead fault. But, as you said in the other thread, you need to be brutal.
Rather than causing you unnecessary work removing bits, when you're trying to have a clearout, best to probably just go the brutal route. The door, lid & touchscreen are the only parts which are readily removeable, but two of those three wouldn't be easy to post.
