you sure its 1.75? my usual goto above for oddball thread size shows 1.5 and 2.0 in the range of fine threads...
whats the size across the flats of the original nut?

i was more wondering if i had any brass large enough to make one, but i fear i may not as it is likely 32mm AF, so larger across the points and my largest stock is currently 30mm...only stuff i have larger than 30mm is a 60mm bit of en8 thats waiting to be turned into a collet chuckYea, if you can find that and measure across the flats then we can help you find a replacement for it![]()

I don't know how to individually quote comments from various people on one post - so this is a reply to "qwakers" - "BrokenBiker" - "hotponyshoes" and "droopshoot. Are these different to the nut you're trying to replace?

It's hard to tell from their photo, perhaps not big enough. Though I presume you've tried the various Lotus specialists before posting.

I figured you'd have checked the obvious places first.
I have just ordered a second set of 1 1/2" cup brake cylinder rubbers for the 1944 Austin, the first set are resting somewhere! had the same issue with core plugs for the engine, second set arrived the day before the first set decided to stop hiding................................Do you have turn-ups in your workshop trousers / overalls?
Joking aside, I sympathise. I'm still looking for a bag of dash gauges I was given for a project car that I've since moved on and has now been scrapped. Not a small bag, by any means, but it's disappeared. Oh, and the bag of interior trim offcuts I was given many years ago, and the pile of A3 sheets of clean cardboard I bought for making templates. All pretty big items, all vanished without a trace.
