I use the jam jar / piece of card method, evicts without undue stress to the spiderprotected by a mother of a spider.

Citric. I also use scotchbrite while it's in the acid...What are you using in the acid bath, citric or something else? Great work BTW

Hornby model trains have had a bad run of that stuff, when it rots it expands, with enough force to destroy the plastic body shells. The Class 31s are the worst affected.
