I took delivery of my 215 yesterday. I was using a Wolf gas welder off ebay. I have only had a chance to run a couple of butt welds on som 1mm car body panels, but............ Wow what a difference. I now know what people are talking about when they say the wire speed is constant for starters. The machine looks, feels and performs in a different class.
Cheers weldequip, service was excellent. I specified a delivery date of just over a week, due to work commitments. I also spec'd mine with the spot weld timmer, the machine was delivered on time and well packaged.
The only slight niggle was that Portamig do not come with a spacer for the tensioning mechanisim so you can run 5KG spools of wire, this was easily rectified with an adapted VW strut cover, which just happened to be lying around in my garage but as I say this was a minor niggle and not a gripe!
All in all the difference I can see in my welds immediately make me realise I have bought the right machine.
