Well thats it pretty much done and ready for urban warfare..as you can see i dont do show bikes as its much more fun to ride them without getting depressed if it gets wet or dirty...Ile have to take it easy as i need to scrub them nice sticky Corsa,s inand bed the new brake pads in too.On the look out now for a nice FJR1300 shafty.
If it gets wet it will dry, if it gets dirty it will clean.

yep the FJR could be deemed as the pipe and slipper brigade BUT the missus wants to take the ferry to santander this summer for a week and ime not taking my Rocket3...thats my baby
A week? A WEEK? You'll spend three days on the boat, best call it a fortnight to make it worthwhile
I was down on the Med. on my previous Pan Euro with Nursy in 2009, staying near Narbonne. We did a clockwise loop up to Andorra and came back down through the back roads to the Bay of Roses on the Spanish side of the Sp/Fr border, then round Cap Cerbere as the sun set... I let the satnav take us 'shortest route' from Andorra to Roses and for mile after mile it was left-right-left-right bends, I had to turn the intercom off as Nursy was screaming so much
Utterly hilarious roads, more grip than Rolf Harris on a bar of soap and nothing on them bar us and the occasional goat.

I'm very fond of my XR, continually surprised by its ability to scratch, albeit after investing in proper shocks/exhaust and fork springs. The standard pipes horribly compromise ground clearance on the right side. The first time I jacked the back wheel off the deck was very scary...
It's stupidly heavy of course, but then so was the Triumph Scrambler I had before it- and the Scrambler had hopeless brakes/suspension, and a flat droning power delivery like an oversize Honda Superdream.
Dynamically the MG Griso is a more accomplished package, but now I've got the XR it's a keeper.

That's not a proper mudguard.....I used to have a bike with proper mudguardsLovely looking bike.

3TA??? "bathtub" rear guard if I remember correctly, there was a gent who used to ride his blue one past the the bustop whare I waited for me bus to school.
Winter: DR type mac and those Dunlop safety wellies with the ribbed reinforcing
Summer: sports jacket or shirt sleeves, and slip on shoes-imagine the outcry today- get some armour on!- and some proper boots!-you can't ride dressed like that!
Was there a an enclosed chain option for that model? can't remember if Peter Furlong was making them in that era, but then, chainguards were more substantial then-look at the one on that bike.

5TA, the 500's were red and the 350's blue originally and both referred to as Bathtubs. I had one from the age of 16 that I paid a couple of hundred quid for from the Postmaster in Ballinluig, then sold the registration to a Porsche owner who stopped me at traffic lights in Perth and offered me £1000 for the registration. I used the money to buy a BMW R100RS. I think I dressed slightly more sensibly back in the day...
