If it were mine I think the wheels would have been anthracite or gunmetal to break it up but thats just me. The tyres will soften the edge anyway and give it some contrast. Can't wait to see it finished.

Yea but does,nt everyone go for anthracite or gunmetal..even me on loads of bikes in the past. Ive always liked being different,look at the flu green wheels on my 1290cc (XS 1100) in my avatar and that was back in the early 90,s when powder coat of exotic colours hit the biking scene

I had the wheel redone on my RR9 Blade in gunmetal powder.

So much nicer than standard but somehow different.

Remember those grips, foam that got soaking wet and held all the water when it rained.

My head down arris up bike days are over so I bought a two wheeled armchair, doesn't go, doesn't stop, doesn't handle and looks pig ugly.

I know what you mean 8ob I rode my XV750 before I stripped it down to 'cafe' it and it was ridiculously comfy, no brakes mind!

Well thats it pretty much done and ready for urban warfare..as you can see i dont do show bikes as its much more fun to ride them without getting depressed if it gets wet or dirty...Ile have to take it easy as i need to scrub them nice sticky Corsa,s in and bed the new brake pads in too.On the look out now for a nice FJR1300 shafty.

Think its designed to deflect crud and just as important insects from the exposed stanchions of the USD forks????, I find dried on insects can nick into fork seals on USDs, so I make up deflectors to protect the USDs.

It was a design carried on to the Busa which is a kind of marmite thing imho

Ref. the RSV, my mate had one, I rode it twice, once in Scotland and once somewhere twisty in Europe. Both times I got off laughing like a drain, each time it was the absolute right tool for the job but no way could I have ridden it down to the Alps and back.

I've always liked the RST Futura, planned to look at one in Ayr last week (was on Gumtree and I was up at Lossiemouth) but timing was bad and I never made it (bloody A9 speed cameras , bloody roadworks )...now sold I guess as the ad has disappeared. There's one for sale about a mile from my place but known to have been Cat. C early in its life. Another about 12 miles away but missing its panniers. I test-rode a red one in Newcastle last autumn but was then outbid on Ebay.

As a long-time Pan Euro rider I don't want to sell the big bus, I just fancy something a bit nimbler but not head-down-ar53-up... something characterful and V-twinny like a Moto Guzzi 1200 Sport... but from what I read the Pan probably handles better and is at least as quick!
Don't want something that screams 'nick me' (like my mate's new MT-10) and don't really want another full-fat tourer (though I like the GTR and the MG Norge).
Five of my mates have Multistradas (inc. a Pike's Peak) but I'm not a fan of the supermotard style.
Either way I'm waiting to see if an expected speeding ticket arrives: insuring two bikes and the TVR with 6 points will be getting a bit spendy

Here's my V first Harley I've had ....surprised how well it handles,even pegs down! Bit heavy for twist after twist though,& after just having a back op + twins of 15 months,I'm selling this spring. It even wheelies.

yep the FJR could be deemed as the pipe and slipper brigade BUT the missus wants to take the ferry to santander this summer for a week and ime not taking my Rocket3...thats my baby
