L200 parts?

Im not bothered, the thread is called l200 parts, if its about l200's its on topic.

Im quite surprised at there being a whole forum dedicated to l200's, i cant help wondering why, its just a means to an end pick up to me that i have to keep going. Its a 4work.

I dont have or want a canopy and cant have any roll bars or anything across the tub because i regularly get bundles of wood put in with a forklift, fills the full 7'.
I will get a strap and strap the spare to the chassis so its not just the chain holding it.

I have never seen the spare chain fail in situ ~I have broke a few though! a strap will do as an extra support, milners actually sell one now that is a cable
Those tonneau covers are good quality I believe though, you could try getting one made to fit by a tarp company

It's been invaluable for me when I've had questions about mods and problems with my truck, plus there's a core contingent of off-road aficionados.
We actually did discuss the lack of a social aspect to this place (referring to the mig welding forum) but the thing with vehicles is that they're (mostly!) mobile so there are often reasons for people to meet up, especially for off-roading jaunts. We also have regional meetups for a pint and a toby carvery.

I would have to have a very good reason to be going off road and dont enjoy the thought of getting stuck

Took me 8 hours just to fit a de-cat pipe I had to cut the cat out, grind and drill all the bolts out and build flanges up with weld then grind down to get a good mating surface for the gaskets. All the bolts were stupid hard drill blunters scunnered.

I couldnt get near the either end of the bolts with my 4 1/2" grinder so had to hack the ends off the cat to create a gap to get at them.The bolts were rusted into the holes and didnt let go even after grinding them flush and drilling through them. I ended up taking the section between the cat and back box off and working on in the shed and build up most of the flange that had rotted away with weld. I had to work on the front pipe under the truck, the part of the flange on the outside of the bolt had rotted away, so there was half the hole left and i had to weld a piece of metal on to replace it. Just turned into a nightmare job, and working on axle stands isnt pleasant. Got it done though and it doesnt leak

The front flexi pipe is £51 and the centre is £31, so i saved myself £82, not counting the cost of electricity, rods and discs.
I didnt really know how bad it was until i got into it to tell the truth, but was lucky it wasnt too far gone to be rescued and to have the resources to have dealt with it.

i have had a stainless exhaust for mine for 4 years now till in the garage! original wont give up

Oh - two other points; First, take the cat to a scrap yard recycler - in the old days, they would pay £50 to £100 for them. Dunno what today's price is, but you should definitely get a rebate.
Second - does the truck sound any better?

Oem cats are about £80 around here, cheapo pattern ones are much less
