I would personally prefer the fact that they are independent units. You might have a bit more to cart about but you've resolved that nicely with a great backpack design. Beats a shoulder strap that's for sure. I like the idea that the battery is an add on. You use the main supply wherever possible and the battery is there for the convienience if the supply ain't there. Knowing all this for a fact the pros out weigh the cons and I'd too chose the lorch.The fundamental difference is our system uses a separate independent battery the Fronius Accupocket has the battery built in.
The benefit of one box as with Fronius is it look a nicer/neater job as it's easier to make one box look cosmetically appealing as it is with two, but the downside is your always using the battery even if you have access to the Grid or a Generator. Downside to having two boxes as with ours is.....the fact that you have two separate boxes but the benefit is that you can have more than one battery if ever required and if it's for a job where you don't need the battery then you can leave it safe back in the office and use the machine as a conventional MMA inverter.
The aH rating on our battery is higher which means a bigger capacity/welding more rods.
