Any information on spray insulation?

As it's a dedicated work shop with CNC machines I have the luxury of oil fired c/h with fan assist radiators - so no condensation, and temperature is thermostatically controlled. Heat load was dramatically reduced by fitting a 'destratification fan (*)' at the apex of the roof

I've not used the kit personally, but I was responsible for manufacturing a similar product a long time ago.
Great stuff, but you'll need more/extra nozzles and some means of venting the fumes/dust created out of the roof space.

It is sometimes a lot cheaper and easier to have a "cold" loft and increase the insulation above the rooms below, unless you're going to use the loft as a room...

Possibly, best to ask the foam manufacturer which spray system they recommend...
Ok, they might try getting you to spend more than you need, but they will have made the mix for a specific system.

You'll need an air-fed mask with peel off covers, and those white paper overall things, it gets everywhere.
Needs to be relatively warm too, best temp is ~20°C.

Ask them which cleaning solvent system too, needs to be done after and the kit, nozzles, etc, usually soaked in it...

Edit: Don't get that sprayer, it's a "post mix" system, simply put it's more trouble than it's worth.

I insulated my workshop - a second hand sectional garage studded out with glass wool 6" thick walls and roof, silver bubble wrap as a vapour barrier over the top (cheap and alleged equivalent to 1" of polystyrene but the jury is out on that!) And Stirling board on the walls to protect them. I installed a side door and bolted shut and boarded over the garage door. It's lovely, warm and dry.

Problem is if you have an apex roof and want to keep the height, over a large area insulation boards are expensive and rock wool is bloody messy and gets damp.

£20 m2 seems pricey to me when 100mm Cellotex works out at £8.68 m2.

Relatively speaking though, how much of your time was taken, electricity, etc?
£12 ph for someone to spray, and/or have a "buddy" as well seems pretty cheap to me...

the problem is the quote is 'from' £20 m2 which in reality means by the time they've taken your particular needs into consideration then it'll probably be twice that much

im thinking that a combination of Cellotex board and the foamseal kit for the awkward spaces might be the way forward?

If a firm wants the business they'll come round and quote.
The companies that bought the resin we used to make were usually one man bands buying 2 x 45gal at a time, one polyol, one iso...
Cellotex might be cheaper due to bulk production, but spraying that stuff properly is a skill.

The aerosol acts as a diluent for the iso and polyol though, so it has to be taken into account that the foamseal polyol and iso will be a lot thinner than those available in 25ltr kegs...

The price difference on 100m2 (fairly small in roof area terms) though is over a £1000.

I like the idea of building/modifying and existing gun/guns to mix them but what could be used to thin the polyol and iso if I did so?

if using shulz guns they will pass sand !!

Maybe use two shulz guns fastened together side by side with the triggers held open have hoses down into each container instead of the pots and one air valve to feed the two guns then stretch a piece of push bike inner tube around the two nozzles to extend the nozzles maybe 30 / 40mm and form a mixing and directional flat 'fish tail' effect/ patern, it might also help stop over spray ?? the slight 'burst baloon' farting wobble created by the air flow would help mix the two elements together ?? maybe have a slightly larger size inner tube slightly longer over the first to help direct the flow??
