I found a 3.7v LI-ion battery in the garage new in its packet what kind of charger do I need to charge it anyone?
There are 2 types of 18650 batteries, one with overload protection built in and one without, there is a physical difference between the two types and the battery with overload protection is slightly longer.
Look at people such as Maplins, at least you get expert advice and the correct charger and a safe to use one.
Expert help? Maplins?
Oh, and
The last time Maplins were any help, in the 1980s, they were a mail-order components supplier based in Southend. Ever since they turned into electronics box-shifters they've been staffed by students, hardly any of whom know anything at all about electronics, let alone whether Product X is better than Product Y or whether either would suit your application.
Apart from that, yeah, experts![]()
