Forgive me for dragging this topic up again.
Was talking to a contractor today who had a very "nice" scar that went through his chin, bottom lip, top lip and half the way up his nose (not quite central but not far off)
Had been using a grinder to remove pointing and it kicked back, never used a visor before but I think I will now.

Hmmm, I have managed to get a series of small cuts on my forehead today.
About 5 per inch......

ha ha ha, thought it was just me, normaly when i snip the cable ties...... and off they go like a jack in the box........

I anticipated the jack in the box effect when i cut the ties, so held onto it tight. Just in the process of adjusting the tension once it was on when it sprung off and bit me. All the time i was fitting it I was thinking about Hitches post the other day. It'll never get me i thought - i'm not stupid.

Worst I did to myself was when I was a lot younger, we were splittling wood.
I was putting the logs on the block and another lad was splitting them.
Anyhow, one of the logs started to fall so I put a hand out to stop it.
It took 3 hours of surgery to reassemble my knuckle, the axe went through it on an angle
A lad I used to go clubbing with had been driving a forklift, and being a bit of a chav he had his arm dangling over the side while driving.
Going round a corner it tipped and dragged his arm along underneath the pillar of the forklift.
He ripped the muscle off his arm and has needed skin grafts and all sorts.
As it is, he still looks like a drawing in a book on anatomy, you can see all the tendons and bits of muscle as the skin graft is soo thin and stretched over the damage.

Sorry should have read younger, not paying attention while I type
However, I did once catch a certain bit of my anatomy as I went over the bars on a ZX-7R. Left a nice dent in the tank

Why is there never any water near when you get a 6mm ball of hot weld down your boot!
It wasn't fun at all for a few days.
My worst was when I cut off an old wagon towbar to replace it and fell over the old one, unfortunately the gas axe went over my knee - that was SERIOUSLY painfull for several weeks, involving lots of bandage soaking and blue air.

Just to say this: stay cocentrated when you're welding something that should have been finished an hour ago....
Was doing a rush job yesterday, lost my concentration for about half a sec...stuck my (red hot) mig wire in my thumb.....
Bugger....i never knew i could swear in that many different languages at a time...
