Standard LH fuel thread for propane I think Parm.

Edit: should be 3/8" LH BSP. Given how hungry it is 8mm bore should be enough but SWK will be able to advise better.

I've got several propane regs and some new 8mm hose, just need the little barbed connector to go on to the threaded section, and yes your right they do consume some gas but put out an awesome amount of heat.

Planning to use it at a local beer festival where I've been asked to do a "Jungle Curry" for 150 people. I can now use my 35" diameter cooking pot

Up until this popped up yesterday I wasn't quite sure how I was gonna do the big curry as I had no heat source

It does have some engraved numbers on the side, so quite possibly so. It was buried under a pile of junk that this bloke had. He couldn't tell me anything about the stove

From memory, Parm, it would have a serial no/year 1234/89 or similar. Can't be sure, it's a long time ago since I was out & about. I've been retired 6 years & before that I was office bound, driving a desk for 25 years. They were good stoves though, not as powerful as you might expect. If you are using it outside for the curry, you will have to rig up some sort of wind shield for it, as the slightest breeze will take the heat away.

Sorry can't remember Parm, the engraved marks could well be BT, but the painted ones mean nothing to me. Still as long as it works, your not too concerned where it came from originally are you.

That might have been an asset / serial number. You may find it has GPO, PO, etc embossed on it somewhere if it originated from BT. I have a red Bullfinch propane torch that has GPO embossed on it.

Not a bitumen boiler burner that...looks like the type cable jointers used before resins came in,they used bitumen based stuff and a lip nosed bucket sat on top to melt the compound and it would be propane. this is the type ive used for nearly 40 years with the boiler

Roofman, my mums got a couple of those that's dads made into cooking burners, they are absolute monsters, will heat anything and consume gas like it's going out of fashion. I'll post up s couple of picks when I get home at the end of the week
