Gas Stove

Picked this from today's boot sale visit

Anyone have any idea what it might have been used for and more importantly what type of gas it might work on, propane, butane or natural gas

Melting tar for roofers or melting lead would be my guess

Should work on any but natural gas is the most likely to create issues - but who might?
It will certainly melt lead connected to propane or butane gas but the two use different regulators

I've got both types of Reg and some new orange gas hose. Will try it when I'm back home

If I wasn't such a turkey with heights quite possibly, but for me this will be a nice little cooking stove for the garden.

Not a bad little find for £2 !!!

Looks like the burner we had in the back of the van when I was on BT, used officially for drying cable joints, heating soldering irons etc. Unofficially, making tea, heating soup etc. They are a propane stove.

Looks like a burner to heat a lead pot.
The one I used was fed from a propane bottle.

I've got a tar melting burned be fold, its proper powerful and uses a serious amount of propane

That's what I thought too and remember all the different uses for it.

I thought it looked like a field kitchen stove, I've seen similar ones with huge pots of stew boiling away on them.

Defo got the igniter too and it works!!

Planning to give it a good clean and use it for cooking in the garden

Anyone know where I can get the threaded adaptor to fit on the short section of tube coming out from the control knob?

Standard LH fuel thread for propane I think Parm.

Edit: should be 3/8" LH BSP. Given how hungry it is 8mm bore should be enough but SWK will be able to advise better.

When I used one at work, it was connected with standard propane hose with a standard regulator. I wouldn't mind betting that stove was one purloined from BT. I don't know how as all gas equipment had to be accounted for & perodically tested.

It does have some engraved numbers on the side, so quite possibly so. It was buried under a pile of junk that this bloke had. He couldn't tell me anything about the stove
