Speakers for the workshop?

Do any of you hi fi type buffs know of a reason why a pair of typical Logitech pc speakers won't work on a car cd player, I can't think of one but know little about impedance rules etc.

Planning to buy an ebay cheapie that takes an SD card for some workshop music and don't want to buy speakers when I have the Logitech pair in the loft.

Should work fine, but pc speakers tend to be on the quiet side so may not be suitable if your are running machines a lot. Unpowered pc speakers tend to only be in the 2-4 watt range.

I know..hence why me and my wallet go to the workshop when they visit.

Lol they are only HF you want a set of full range HiFi speakers to connect to it

ten years. Impedance, your over thinking it, connect them up and turn it up.

Don't forget this music will be listened to by someone who is tuneless, thought 8 track tapes were great, believes a 'beatbox' is a room you go in to fight and has never understood why headphones have R and L on, I thought all ears were the same.

HF, High Frequency, the ones you listed were only tweeters

to get any decent sound you could do with speakers with at least a 6 inch speaker in there, just look for some old hifi speaker on ebay must some going cheap

I got a little system with some decent speakers + old style iPod dock + USB connector that you're more than welcome to have for postage costs Steve, They're pretty loud too.

I've even got the old iPod touch you can have too if you want it?

If you can find a set of Acoustic Energy Speakers. The model was given away as a mobile phone contract().

They won lots of awards when released. (£180rrp) they come up on ebay now and agian, usually circa 50quid.

Worth every penny and some. I've two pair, one in the w/shop the others aux to the tv. Also bluetooth.

I will try the Logitech first and if not happy follow some of your guys good advice, I am not realyl a HI FI person, been listening to an old tinny radio for the last 5 years so that says a lot I suppose.

Brother is the opposite, was visiting at the weekend and bought a 'thing', a sort of large cream coloured plastic box, apparently it plays the music from your phone or tablet...£420 , when I was younger I got 2 motorbikes a Ford Cortina, pair of flares and half a dozen bottles of Harp lager to encourage a grapple and grope from a certain young lady and had change from £420
