WP9's are good for doing thin staibless/mild etc up to 70 amps. After that they get too hot, kill Consumables, Torch gets warm. No fun. CK reckon their 9 is 125A 100% duty cycle but it must affect the life of the torch.

I know the ck ones seem cheap from rapid at the mo. I only paid 114 plus vat for mine. Then I added a sheath.

bog standard, and as cheap as possible because I'm a patient tightwad... but the US ones will have those reverse thread US style connectors rather than 3/8bsp female swivels

Shows the compact size of the sw320 quite nicely. I've got my grubby mitts on a ck superflex wp18, if that turns out to be no good then I'll get a speedway320, but I do prefer the larger sized front end parts, I keep killing 9/20 sized collets.

There is no question having owned one they are probably the best quality torches around. Ck do a 300 amp one at 100% of the same size. Mine is a 250 amp one which although very nice and really good price it's not as well made as the weldtec offering imo. Jim put prices up not too long ago for the torch in standard form which were quite reasonable. You got that wp18 very cheap so it's only going to return your cash back should it be unsuitable.

Upgrade to brass wedge collets from CK, they have no split so you just can't kill them. Job solved

Yes you won't kill these. I would even go as far to say not consumable.

I was looking at the wedge collets, they seem a much better bet than the standard split ones. Also available in stubby too. I think I'll order some.

Can't believe no-one else bid on it. I'll be selling the kemppi adapter it comes with too, no idea how much they are to buy but can't be less than 20 quid?

Is it a genuine kemppi one or par weld.
Jim got me prices for those too. The genuine kemppi one was around £80
Par weld around £40.
Both very good items.

Them wedge collets are worth the money. Rapid sell them pretty cheap. I haven't even tarnished them yet and they've had loads of use albeit at lower amperages.

My first thoughts were the same and guess what?? They are still my current thoughts.
Best quality torches bar non.
Now ask him for one of those ssc pedals and you'll be kitted out proper.
