Just phoned the local kempi dealer to see if he has one I can drive over for failing in this venture yes please if you could

Unsure what to do the kempi dealer recons it's more likely a failing regulator
Phoned my normal supplier and they say it's 50/ 50
As a spare reg is more use to me than a spare solenoid I recon it's best to swap that part out first to remove that possibility first
They are both similar in cost £ 44 for a new kempi part off the shelf
I am a regulator abuser but it's only about 12- 18 months old

Only other suggestion ( besides freaky drafts) is pcb on the board which at like £ 300 is a very last thing to swap

is there a poss there might be a filter pre solenoid that might have something flapping around, or one I have had is the pipe into the torch kinking or may have come off the fitting in the handle had that a couple of times gas still seems to come out of the right place but most is dispersed into the handle.

I was determined to find it in action this morning. Did way over 100 on off switches - each time gas. But then I have given the solenoid a good bit of a shake up in removal and played around with the reg a good bit also
Think it's going to get left a while now

Told so by a welding plant engineer - heck I wouldn't know what one really looked like

I did consider a torch kink. Never had that before but then again this one foes get manhandled a bit more
I might just borrow a reg off a mate if it does it again and watch especially hard for freaky drafts ( which I don't suspect) or tight angles on the torch
The gauze filter in the solenoid bottom was clean as
Presently as it could end up costly and time hungry to find I shall leave be as I could grind out all the very few welds that started bad in
ten mins max ( a trip out for bits is half a day gone)

I have only one 30 day account and pay it immediate on billing

But, say we had a reg fail and no spare, that's a man who is being paid a wage and can't weld. Easy a couple of hours lost for someone to go and fetch one.
Pays dividends to spend pennies on a certain amount of stock/spares to save lots of pounds.

Yeah it does but I don't pay the guy and I run one mig, it dont make sense for me though at present

I buy consumables in large quantities for that reason, tips etc but not regs.

That's one less outing to the distributor and more scrolls rolled in the shop.

to be fair though regulators usually last years, there are loads still in use, you only have to look some boys shop that has OA

But that doubles expenditure if I get 12 months out of one it's the cost of all the extra somethings straight off the bottom line. We're do you stop two grinders at once because I know I can kill them etc. Etc etc

Might seem tight but it's not just an extra reg at 40 it's a heap of other stuff

Likelihood is next big shop after this year end return I will pick one up. At present though I can't get it doing it again and can switch to stick or tig in a ' mergency - ha that just give me a thought

It don't take long to make a nice scroll you know. Once I figure out the correct string length for the shape I could likely do more than 30 an hour more if it doesn't need heat
