I was told that the trick is to store the saw with the tension taken off the blade
-any metal I generaly cut with hss blades I use cutting compound and even still the blades wear out before I break themI never slacken them
Can't remember the last time I snapped a proper blade either. Did snap a cheap blade I tried once, which literally snapped as soon as it touched metal. It appears good hacksawing is becoming a dying art.![]()
