It doesn't look good, but there could be a few reasons, maybe an internal device playing up, local contention. Try disconnecting everything apart from one PC and try teh test again, also try running the test at different times of the day to build up a pattern.

Down 10, up 0.3 with plusnet here, but we're upgrading next week as the upload is too slow for skype, it keeps going choppy.

Ping 11ms D/L 4.40Mb/s U/L 0.75Mb/s using wireless so may be quicker hardwired.

If you are still on copper wires, and have low speed connection, changing provider isnt likely to change things an awful lot.

Looks reasonable, Definitely above average for ADSL. Cable has much higher speeds.

It's been fine for a long time, then i bought a new laptop and suddenly the internet went slow. Obviously blamed the laptop, but my missus has problems with hers, which hasn't been changed.

Just got Infinty here in Queensferry a few months ago so up from 2Mb/sec down and 0.5Mb/sec up to this;
Mind you, 4 years ago when I was in central Edinburgh I was getting 70Mb/sec.
I ran ookla speed tester on one of our data centre connections a few months ago and it was coming in at around 12,000Mb/sec down and up (yes - it's a 20Gb/sec connection)

Yes - but just make absolutely sure there's nothing on your network that's trying to suck the internet down.
If you can, turn everything off (including the Sky TV box) and try it from one device, then switch that device off and try it from another (ookla has clients for iThings and Android, too).
