First of. Hi there found this forumwhen looking for problems with my old but trusty Oxford 161.
Had this for years and it stopped working yesterday..
[/IMG] I turned it on. And went to use it but the wire feed wouldn't spool. the gas solenoid opened.and it had "arc." Then it popped the fuse in the plug. So I changed it. And had a look at the wire spool motor as this had stuck once before. But this seems fine. Removing the side panel it looked inside it looked very dusty! So I blow it out with my airline. Plugged it all back In... and nothing! The fan turned on, only a rely click with pressing the trigger! ! Had a little route around and cleaned up some contacts and went to turn it on again but this time it started buzzing like it would if I was trying to weld with it even though the trigger wasn't pressed! ! And blow the fuse again! I've disconnected the wire motor thinking it might still be that but once turned on it still made the buzzing noise so I quickly turned it of again.
Struggling now to think what it might be.. looking at the inside wiring and pcb board it all looks very basic? ? So there can't be to much wrong with it?? I would like to get it working again as it's served me well and it has sentimental value to!
Can you still get a PCB boards for it? Or is there such a thing as a universal board you can fit?
Long first post I know but hopefully someone can help.
