Easy and pretty aside I couldn't honestly disagree more. Cup walking on an inside corner would be a terrible way to weld it. If the material thickness requires a bigger fillet from a reinforcement pov then it ideally should be welded with a different process such as mig/mma. If it must be tig then the multi run would be a far superior weld over a wide weave. It's mentioned all over the forum the implications of weaving/walking etc. tig is a process with limiting travel speeds and there for very high localised heat input. If that heat input is increased by weaving walking big wide fat welds the toughness of the joint is compromised. It's a show type weld usually. Thick walled pipe is often welded with a wiggle/walk but then it's thick enough to take the heat and pipe welders do it for speed and out of position pool control. In a general fab world IMHO cup walking brings nothing to the table what so ever.

Yes it's just one of them things.i like the brand and never had any problems yet..yes it's over the 4k ...but gives me another goal now...
thats looking really advanced now...funny thing learning anything,the better you or we become we seem to learn faster and pick up on our faults alot easier.My tigging is still learner stage but from when i was a raw novice it has got a lot better with gaining more coffidence from improvement
I agree. .at first when I set up the tig side and had a go...I got down in the dump as I just couldn't get to grips with it..but now..I feel a lot more positive about the whole thing..and it's something I injoy doing..I now look at what mistakes I made and now I no how to change where and what I was doing wrong.as I said it's opened up a whole new level of things to do..get..and focus on..and I can thank Richard for that....
Tig is all about consistency. You can start your run with the best arc length, angle, filling intervals etc but if you cannot keep it the same all the way to the end then that's where the problems arise.
That's the trouble i first had..it takes a while to develop the technique where both hands work in relation with each other..but practice when ever you can..a totally different learning curve is tig but one well worth the time and effort. .it practice every minute I can.some days are good others are bad..that's the way it goes when learning. Stick with it thoe.
