Update time

So I did what I could today, realised I'm missing some parts for the front end but put the rear axle on I should get a load of my parts tomorrow to put some other bits on maybe fuel tank and fuel lines etc.
Started by bolting the wheels on and fitting the washer I left off the wheel bearings on one side

Don't worry the wheels aren't staying.
Then pulled the chsssis outside it looks fab

Tapped out the holes on the spring mounts.

Rolled it under, I will get my new spring wed I think so the old ones will do till then, I didn't bolt the retaining plates on the sprints either, saves time with them off to just switch them over

Looks great anyway I once I started on the front axle I realised there was loads of bits im missing which really frustrated me. I'll have to order them tomorrow morning.

Had to put it away without the front axle on. Will try get it on at least tomorrow and final bolt it up whenever I get the couple bolts I'm missing. Can still put the suspension bars and stuff on, may clean and fit fuel tank and other parts tomorrow and rear wiring I think

I've not seen the yellow bushes before, just red and blue. I used red as the closest match to the springs

Unfortunately people are telling me they are poo. So will probably end up replacing them at some point but too late to take back :'(

Kim could you do me a big favour , is there any way you could measure the diameter of the rear shock upper mount pin ?
I have a couple of shocks that might fit but need to know the diameter of the pin.

do you mean the upper damper mount shaft diameter ?

Unfortunately people are telling me they are poo. So will probably end up replacing them at some point but too late to take back :'(

we found that when sand and grit got into the polybush joints it acted as an abrasive and caused a lot of premature wear. always safer with rubber...

lol if/when they need doing I'll buy a full kit and do them all in one go. They will only be fitted to easily accessible things that can be got to under the car

Yellow ones tend to be ****part ones, although from experience it seems the only thing they have managed to market that does something close to its intended job

I'm self employed so whenever I want I usually take a day off here and there and do everything I have to then carry on. I fit it all in somewhere or another though

And yes I was really frustrated earlier, mainly because it would've allowed me to get the front axle on if I had a couple bolts and washers.

I've got some wolf wheels, just need to fit tyres

Without leading too off track I just buy fix and sell things. I do as little fixing as I can however lol. My last job where I did my apprenticeship I was a tool maker Thanks though pm me if you want to ask anymore, saves clogging the thread up.

Got a bit more done today it's been a slow day though, it's a bit hard moving all the heavy things on my own and trying to get all the bushes fitted was a major pain. Having a bit of a problem with the order with Brit car as well. It's my fault though I keep adding to it which is making things really confusing.
Did a bit more today anyway, the weathers been so anoying though, on and off hail storms today, frustrating!!!

Started by running to the shop and getting some bolts for the front lower spring mounting plates and some nuts for the damper tops to hold the Axle to the chassis
Bolted the lower spring mounts on.

Then bolted the dampers on with the one bush kit I have, ordered the bushes for the top today so will do them in a few days.

Springs on

Lowered the chassis onto the acle which was a pain, pit the the nuts on the top of the dampers to hold them in place

Put the torcian(sp) bars on the bushes from the bars to the chassis were a major pain. Spent couple hours just getting those on

Bolted the panhard rod on

Professionally fitted the panhard rod mount

Cleaned the fuel filter housing and fitted, I'm waiting on another two bolts for that then can fit the cover

Then fitted the fuel lines, I cleaned them, blew them through with and air line and clipped them on

This is after putting it away, bit more done which is great just cleaning and fitting things now.

I was going to put the fuel tank in but need the bolts so will just wait, saves me doing stuff twice. Should be getting the swivel housing soon too, can't wait to finally get it rolling and put the engine hoist away , slowly but surly it's getting there, it's so nice to be cleering some parts and making room as well, have had so little room anywhere recently.
