this bad-boy will not see rain..............
otherwise the horn/main beam could be a distraction for fellow motorists when they short out !!!
Nah he's from Wales. It never rains there![]()
nice job on the rear wheel, for future reference, its possible to machine down the rear sprocket mounting face to align the front and rear as well. It can be a bit fiddly to setup, but it can be a real help when the offset is significant.
The tank has 2 x outlets and a real deep tunnel. As I'm not running any sort of fuel level lamp etc , it'll just be one tap for main and the other for reserve. They'll both be linked into the both carbs, but It means I should get some sort of warning before it runs dry....??? The tank holds just under 10l so that wont last long with a 1000cc V-twin !!!![]()
I think, all Tonti Guzzis had twin taps and a crossover fuel pipe, to single carburetor inlets. Both taps were main and reserve, so it only got funny when there was not enough fuel to fill from both sides and the leaning was excessive.
Put your reserve tap on the left side, much easier to reach it when moving.....![]()
Hah... I take it you've never had a stuck open throttle?been messing around this weekend with the switch gear.
Hah... I take it you've never had a stuck open throttle?
You'll soon change your mind about lack of killswitch.

Reminds me of my first farm bike, a DT 175, no ignition or kill switch, you needed to stall it to cut the motor. This was fine until the throttle cable snapped, so I pushed it into a mates lockup and fitted a new cable in the semi darkness. Finished fitting the cable , turned the fuel on and kicked it over.Oh yes! Built a Honda 50 up with a mate when we were 11 using his auto clutch engine with broken kickstart in a non step through frame. Bump starting down the side of our house it started straight away then the revs soar like the throttle was stuck wide open with me sat sidesaddle. Front brake now useless as it's starting to wheelie I hung on as far as the front gate then let go and it went out the gate into the road dragging the back mudguard to the middle of the road and fell over. Throttle worked fine when we picked the bike up but the slide, spring and carb top really need to be in the carb to have any control over the revs!![]()
Now try that in busy traffic and streets full of hard things and people.LOL.............I raced motocross for 5 years, throttles wedged wide open with mud was all part of the fun !!!!
I was persuaded to ride some blokes 250 Honda with a chair from Ilford to North Weald. Now try that in busy traffic and streets full of hard things and people.
Not quite the same thing.
