Extreme/uneven tyre wear

Could it have been the tow bar incorrectly fitted, twisting the chassis out of alignment? Or perhaps had a prang on the bar itself??

Quite probably the latter and while not enough to have mangled the bar, it stressed things a bit.
Kicking myself for not checking that sooner, but there y'go; all the problem seemed to be up the front (and the tyre wear wasn't huge, just a bit annoying), caused by something at the back. I'd checked the rear springs before that, just in case, as I'd come across rear axle misalignment before, but it wasn't that.

It'd be one of those things you probably only noticed when you removed the tow bar!
