They seem to be a good machine and can take a bit of use and abuse, unlike most if the far-eastern rubbish. Does the no.1 have a morse taper in the spindle ?

I think he probably means a drift when he says wedges.You don't really, a simple drift should be enough to shift it.
are you taking the p** or not reading the question correctly ? we have followed all the numbers on drawing... But at the bottom of the drawing it says .. one lead from capacitor must be taken direct to switch.. .............. it dont say what number on switch to attach the wire and dont say what wire from capacitor...Just follow tge numbers on the drawing, assumin thatcyou are using tge original Krater switch.

A1 to No. 3 : correcton this diagram all wires connect as per the diagram.. but at the bottom is says... one lead from capcitor must taken direct to switch ? what lead does it mean > where on capacitor and where to on the switch.... when wired like it shows on diagram it just buzzes..... i put A1 TO NUMBER 3 ........... Z1 to number 6,.......... Z2 to number 5 .....A1 to number 7... all i get is the motor buzzing. i have no clue as t owhat it means by a wire direct to switch from capacitor. its this last wire i cannot understand where from and to ?
