I disagree. They looked at the CB 175 and thought "how can we make this less interesting?" They started by somehow extracting all the pep from the engine and then went to work on the rest of it. They made a damn good job of it too, possibly the most beige motorcycle ever made! (But definitely still worth restoring :-) )
I disagree with your disagree, The CD185 and 200 were beiger than beige on a beige day! The CD175 was a long distance touring upgrade for the C90 owner.
