Folks, I've been mulling over my options for a couple days and I've decided that for now I should just buy an arc welder of around 150amps and run it off the household supply below 140 amps.
I might buy a generator to hook it up to at a later date so I can use it out in the field but for now I just really want to get a feel for welding and get some practice without taking the plunge buying a welder generator just yet.
All the shops local to me only seem to stock Sealey welders, I've seen them referred to as "toy town", are they really THAT bad? Also, are inverter machines worth the extra? If so for what reason?
