strange that, all of the pumps that i've seen are rubber mounted in /on their frames which are usually massive box section in a H pattern the box then forms the chassis and fuel tank , because pumps need to be qiet also, they don't have auto start but do have auto stop controls on them. None seem to vibrate enough to damage anything.The couple of replies since I started typing... talk about flexable mountings. Don't do it. They need to be well bolted down to hefty bases. Vibration will destroy the control units. As in. the solenoids that control the decompressor and the fuel control. Been there....

Ps a mate used to work in sound studios, and a cheap sound deadening medium are egg boxes (cardboard type) glued to the wall painted with fire resistant paint it is the shape that deflects the sound from the walls.
he said as the wall of sound hits the wall it is transmited straight through it but if it is broken up by all the lumps it stops the wall from being 'hit'
