Well my thought were it wouldn't have anything to do with the feed mod, as it worked on 0.8mm gassless same steel different wire and polarity.
When you look at what has been done it would steady the output to the torch as the transformer is supplying one side of the mig instead of torch and wire feed.
But to answer your question I didn't offer that information.
I did tell him about the brace and the steel liner though, :-) must've slipped my mind re the transformer.
He didn't make it sound a fault just the limit I can go on 0.6mm wire.
I'm happy with that as the cars bodywork is 1.2mm and I've loads to do.
So my settings will be power 1-2 and work out the speed by the sound it makes.
I prefer the mig now and would take a lot for me to get rid unless it goes pop, even then I'll try and fix it up.
