I do agree that getting your head round the basics is far more useful than twiddling knobs and not really being sure if it's having any effect, than having to press the master reset button and putting it all back to normal. Been there, got the tee shirt.




). Turns out my balance was set to max clean! I've switched towards the other end of the scale and now the tungsten keeps a small ball and the arc directs into the corner. Can manage autogenous tacks now. I think the tungsten was getting too hot before.
